APHA Kaiser Permanente Community Health Scholarship 2024-25
The APHA Kaiser Permanente Community Health Scholarship for the 2024-25 academic year is a pivotal component of the Community Health Leadership Program. This visionary initiative aims to cultivate a cadre of diverse and underrepresented public health leaders. These leaders are deeply committed to enhancing the health of our most vulnerable communities and championing the cause of health equity nationwide. Generously funded by the Kaiser Permanente National Community Benefit Fund at the East Bay Community Foundation, the program strives to make a lasting impact on public health.
Scholarship Details
Academic Focus
The scholarship provides vital support for newly admitted graduate students embarking on their MPH or DrPH/PhD in public health in Fall 2024. The participating universities are dedicated to molding the next generation of public health professionals.
Newly admitted full-time MPH students commencing their studies in 2024-25 will be awarded a $15,000 tuition award annually for two years of full-time study. (Morehouse College MPH students will receive a $7,500 tuition award each year.)
DrPH/PhD Candidates
Full-time DrPH/PhD students starting in 2024-25 will receive a substantial $20,000 tuition award annually for three years. (In the third and final year, DrPH/PhD awardees can receive their award as a stipend or a combination of stipend and tuition.) Recipients must maintain the academic standards of the graduate program throughout the Scholarship duration.

Requirements
Eligibility
The Scholarship is open to newly admitted full-time MPH and DrPH/PhD candidates starting in Fall 2024 at partner universities.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.
Ineligibility
Current graduate students already enrolled in an MPH or doctoral program are ineligible.
Dual degree programs (MSW/MPH; MPA/MPH; MPP/MPH etc.) are not covered.
Nursing, health administration (MHA), medical (MD), and undergraduate degrees (BS) are excluded.
Fully funded students (receiving full tuition funding either from their program or an external funding source) are ineligible.
